The road to recovery isn’t easy. It was supposed to be an entry to 2020 Writing Contest by Celia, but I also decided to upload it on here because why not?! Could Something Like This Happen Today? I can recall his response verbatim:  “If he’s schizophrenic, he’ll never get better.”. Just how my mental illnesses can make me feel and act sometimes coming to life in a short story. This is a fictionalized account of having a psychological ailment. Fast forward about twenty years, and I was working in a mental health center in the US.
