Mark Your Calendars! LeadingAge California Town Hall in Monterey is Fast Approaching
You speak, we listen!
Members’ experiences, views and ideas are the basis for LeadingAge’s federal Policy Priorities. Please plan to share yours by joining us for a LeadingAge California Town Hall Conversation, to be held at the Monterey Conference Center on Tuesday, May 21st in the Steinbeck 1B and 1C rooms. Continental Breakfast will be served in the DeAnza Foyer (Portola Hotel, First Floor). Bring your coffee and light breakfast and join us.
Whether you serve older adults in affordable senior housing, long-term care, home and community-based services, hospice, life plan communities, or another setting, LeadingAge wants to hear from you.
Last year, LeadingAge began an exciting national public policy setting process, the most important part of which is a Town Hall Conversation in each state. LeadingAge state and national staff will be there to hear directly from you. Results of the conversation will be shared with LeadingAge’s Public Policy Committee, Board of Directors and staff, and will be used to set public priorities to better represent your interests and the interests of older adults in Washington, DC.
As a result of the 34 Town Hall Conversations held with LeadingAge members in 2018, our 2019 Policy Priorities form a robust road map for the entire organization. Your input matters.
All LeadingAge California members, state affiliates, boards of directors and staff are invited to attend and we would encourage you to extend this invitation to your board of directors and staff. The feedback from each state town hall will be aggregated so we can identify the most pressing issues across states, themes and emerging issues.
The California Town Hall Conversation is your opportunity to provide input to LeadingAge about ways national public policy is affecting you, the older adults you serve, and how policy could be changed for the better. Please join us for this important and exciting event.
This year we encourage you to think in advance about your “stories” and bring them with you. What kinds of experiences do you have with regulators, funders, the people you serve, your staff and others? These narratives and examples illustrate our policy objectives and bring them to life for lawmakers and federal officials in Washington.
