LeadingAge California is sponsoring SB 611 (Caballero, D-Salinas) to examine the increasing need of affordable housing for the state’s burgeoning senior population. The bill will create a Master Plan on Aging Housing Task Force, which will make recommendations to the Legislature to include solutions to help increase the supply of affordable housing for older adults and reduce the barriers for housing with service models in the state.
The bill would require the task force to meet 6 times in 2020 and submit a report to the Legislature by April 30, 2021. The bill will be heard in the Senate Housing Committee on April 22, 2019. More information on SB 611 can be found here.
